How Does Reiki Work?

Reiki is commonly unheard of Japanese healing technique. It uses invisible vibrations and spiritual energy to heal physical and mental trauma. It is administered through the hands of a Reiki practitioner and, in turn, promotes mental clarity and spiritual well being. The word “Reiki” itself comes from the Japanese words “rei”, referring to a higher intelligence that is universal, and “ki”, which refers to the nonphysical energy that flows through all living things. When these two words are combined, the definition becomes “spiritually guided life-force energy”. This is the mandate of the practice of Reiki.

Reiki technique is performed through a practitioner or spiritual guide. This person channels life force energy through their hands to another person. Once this is done, the energy flow travels through the receiver’s energy field (body) and gives them positive energy. This energy transfer is a clarifying process that allows the receiving individual to become aware of where their negative energy lives, why it is there, and how to replace it with positive energy.

Negative energy can be caused by stress, anxiety, physical pain, sadness, and confusion. When it is built up and left unattended, it creates blocks in energy flow that keeps the mind, body, and spirit healthy and balanced. When a Reiki practitioner charges someone with positive energy, the goal is to clear these blocks and allow for positive energy to travel throughout the body.

Reiki can be an extremely helpful form of therapy for those experiencing different forms of trauma. Despite the skepticism surrounding this natural and holistic form of therapy and healing, it is growing in popularity because it allows individuals to become acquainted with their innermost selves. Through interacting with energy flow and welcoming positive energy into yourself, you can feel the multiple benefits of Reiki.
